Thousands rally in Istanbul to protest Israeli raid on flotilla

Thousands of people gathered toplanmak in Istanbul to protest the attack of Israeli naval forces on a humanitarian aid flotilla bound for the Gaza Strip carrying international activists including Turkish civilian volunteers.
The first protest in Istanbul was held in front of the Israeli consulate konsolosluk building in the central Levent neighborhood. The protestors gathered in front of the consulate at night and their numbers increased by dawn şafak. A group of protestors tried to enter the consulate building, leading police to intervene araya girmek with tear gas and pressurized water to keep protestors away.
Protestors later marched yürümek to Taksim Square carrying banners afiş saying, "Israel take your hands off our ships of conscience vicdan; inanç,' "You cannot stop humanitarian aid ships' in Turkish, English and Hebrew. The most common slogans chanted tekrarlayıp durmak on the march and in Taksim were: "Israel the Murderer: leave the Mediterranean,' "Long live the global uprising isyan,' "The blood of the martyrs şehit will drown Israel,' "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, revenge for revenge intikam.'
Muharrem Öztürk, an unemployed economist, said Palestine (i.) Filistin. is now on everybody's agenda gündem in the world. "By displaying their injustice, Israel let it be seen one more time that it is a terrorist state devlet.'
