Turkish president first owner of biometric passport

President Abdullah Gül was presented with the first Turkish biometric passport on Tuesday, marking the switch değişim from the country's old passports to a new system in accordance uyum with international standards.
Interior iç Affairs Minister Beşir Atalay, Turkish Police Director Oğuz Kağan Köksal and Foreign Ministry Deputy başkan yardımcısı. Undersecretary Naci Koru gave Gül and his wife their new passports.
When giving the president his new passport, Atalay said, "Diplomatic passports are now black." In addition, regular passports will be changed from dark blue to maroon kestane rengi.
The president chatted sohbet etmek with Atalay and Koru about the technical and safety specifications ayrıntılar of the passports.
The new passports, which contain chips çip storing depolamak electronic information, are compatible uygun with international and European Union standards.
Over 100 countries use biometric passports, and Turkey has been in talks görüşme to switch over since 2003.
