For many people, "Google" is synonymous with the web. So the word "Google" was declared a verb by the Oxford English Dictionary in June 2006. Now it seems that Merriam-Webster have also included it.

As defined in Wikipedia, the verb "to google" means "to perform a Web search", usually with the Google search engine. "Mary googled for Wikipedia references." This new word arose from the tremendous popularity of the Google search engine. The American Dialect Society chose the verb to google as the "most useful word of 2002."

According to Online Dictionary Reference Answers.com, "to google" is defined as "to search the Web using the Google search engine."
