Jazz artist Chris Botti to perform in Istanbul

World-renownedinstrumental jazz artist Chris Botti, who was discovered by Sting in a small bar in London, will play a show at Istanbul's Good Music in Town Volume I festival.
The festival, organized by MAP Communications, will berealizedfor the first time in Turkey and willtake placeon Oct. 8 at the Haliç Congress Center.
Well-known Turkish pianist Fahir Atakoğlu will share the same stage with Botti as theduoperforms Botti's "My Funny Valentine.'
Also, as part of the festival, one of the world's mostsignificantjazz pianists, Herbie Hancock, will gobeforeaudiences in Istanbul at the end of October.
Since thereleaseof his 2004 critically acclaimed CD, "When I Fall In Love,' Botti has become the largest selling American jazz instrumental artist. His success has crossed over to audiences usually more focused on pop music.Moreover, his ongoingassociationwith PBS hasenabledhim to produce four number-one jazz albums andreceivedmultiple gold, platinum and Grammy Awards.
Overthe past threedecades, he has recorded and performed with the best in music, including Frank Sinatra, Sting, Josh Groban, Michel Buble, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, John Mayer, Andrea Bocelli, Joshua Bell and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler.
Hitting the roadfor 250 plus daysper year, Botti and his band have performed with many of the finest symphonies at some of the world's mostprestigiousvenues, including performances at the World Series and Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony.
