From May 10 to June 10 theInternationalIstanbul Theater Festival, which is organized every two years, willpresentthe best examples of Turkish theater as well as internationallyacclaimedtheatercompaniesand dance groups. This year's festival program waslaunchedMonday at apressconference.
The 17th International Istanbul Theater Festival, organized every two years by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, or IKSV, will take place from May 10 to June 10. The program of the festival was launched Monday at a press conference.
This year the festival will present nineforeigntheater and dance groups and nearly 30 dance, theater plays and special shows from Turkey. Besides the 90 shows, there will be talks andworkshops, which will beattendedby famousguests.
IKSVExecutiveBoardChairmanBülent Eczacıbaşı said the festival, which had been so far organized in venues on the European side, would also go to the Anatolian side this year. He said the festival would be performed at 18 venues, including theformerBayrampaşa Prison.
Tickets for the festival will be on sale beginning April 3.Pricesrangebetween 10 and 150 liras.
